The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is a Canadian immigration program that allows individuals with certain skilled trades experience and qualifications to apply for permanent residence in Canada. To be eligible for the FSTP, individuals must meet certain criteria related to their work experience, language proficiency, and other factors.
To be considered for the FSTP, individuals must first create an Express Entry profile and enter the Express Entry pool. Candidates in the pool are then ranked against each other based on a points system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS takes into account factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors.
The highest-ranked candidates in the pool are invited to apply for permanent residence through regular draws from the pool. The FSTP is just one of several immigration programs that use the Express Entry system to select candidates for permanent residence in Canada.
In addition to meeting the basic eligibility criteria, candidates for the FSTP must also meet certain requirements related to their work experience, language proficiency, and other factors. They must also pass a medical examination and a security clearance. Once they have been invited to apply, candidates have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence.
