The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a Canadian immigration program that allows individuals who have Canadian work experience to apply for permanent residence in Canada. To be eligible for the CEC, individuals must have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years preceding their application.
In addition to meeting the work experience requirement, candidates for the CEC must also meet certain language proficiency requirements and have completed their education in Canada (if applicable). They must also pass a medical examination and a security clearance.
To apply for the CEC, individuals must first create an Express Entry profile and enter the Express Entry pool. Candidates in the pool are then ranked against each other based on a points system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS takes into account factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors.
The highest-ranked candidates in the pool are invited to apply for permanent residence through regular draws from the pool. The CEC is just one of several immigration programs that use the Express Entry system to select candidates for permanent residence in Canada. Once a candidate has been invited to apply, they have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence.
