LMIA

LMIA

LMIA stands for Labour Market Impact Assessment, which is a program run by the Government of Canada to ensure that Canadian employers have access to the workers they need when Canadian citizens or permanent residents are not available or do not possess the necessary skills.

Under the LMIA program, Canadian employers must apply for an assessment to hire foreign workers for a particular job. The assessment process involves providing information about the job, including job duties, salary, and benefits, and demonstrating that the employer has made efforts to hire Canadian citizens or permanent residents for the job but has been unable to fill the position.

Once an employer receives a positive LMIA, the foreign worker can use it to apply for a work permit to work in Canada. The LMIA process helps to ensure that foreign workers are only hired when it is necessary and that they are not used to undercut Canadian wages and working conditions.

We provide assistance and guidance with the LMIA program. We can help Canadian employers to navigate the LMIA application process, including providing advice on the documentation required and ensuring that the application is submitted correctly and on time.

Additionally, we can assist foreign workers who have received a positive LMIA with the work permit application process, ensuring that their application is complete and accurate and that they meet all the necessary requirements to work in Canada.
